When designing your own automation workflow the first that you will need to do is choose a trigger out of the available trigger types. The trigger type titled "When someone adds any product to their cart" is an example of a trigger type that requires that you first set up your account so that it identifies your website users in order for it to work. This trigger reacts by putting your automation in motion when someone adds any product to their online cart, inside one of your websites.
There are two parameters that you need to define on this type of trigger:
1. You need to choose whether the automation will be triggered every time someone adds a product to their online cart, or whether it will be triggered only the first time someone adds a product.
2. The second parameter you need to define is the website in which a product needs to be added to the cart in order to trigger your automation.
You can find a list of the websites which you manage on the drop-down menu; if you choose a specific one out of the list, all events from the other websites will be ignored. After you are done, click on the Save button to have your trigger ready and waiting inside your workflow.
This type of trigger is commonly used on automation workflows of the Abandoned Cart variety. You can build your own as soon as you learn how to use Actions and how to use the available Conditional / Control steps.
