Does our platform offer any Email Client & Mobile Device Tracking features

Knowing the mobile device, system software and email client that your email subscribers use to open and interact with your email marketing campaigns is very crucial. The reason might be obvious but it bears repeating: optimizing the design of your email newsletter to fit whatever device your users are using might indeed affect your campaign's performance.

With our platform, you are able to see a concise Mobile vs. Desktop analysis, revealing how many of the recipients opened or clicked on your newsletter using their mobile phone, tablet, desktop or laptop. 

Taking advantage of this feature, you will get insight on which device software they use for mobile opens (e.g. iOS, Android as well as the specific Email Clients through which your recipients open your newsletter (e.g. Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.). 

To access our Email Client & Mobile Device tracking just follow these simple steps:

A. Finding the Email Client & Mobile Device Tracking

1. At the top of your Dashboard page, hover your mouse over the Reports tab to reveal the drop-down menu and then click on the Campaign Reports option.email_clients_and_device_type_reports_1.png

2. Click on the name of the campaign of whose statistics you want to check. 

3. Tap on the Track email clients & devices tab, on the vertical menu that appears.email_clients_and_device_type_reports_2.png

 

B. Navigating the Email Client & Mobile Device Tracking

 1. In the Mostly Viewed On box, on the upper left side of the page, you can see statistics pertaining to the email client or the device mostly used by your subscribers to open your newsletter.email_clients_and_device_type_reports_3.png

Click on the three-dots icon in the top right corner of the box to send the information in CSV format to your account's email, or to download it as a pdf (just select your preferred format from the drop-down menu that appears). Note that the pdf option allows you to download the graph you are viewing, whereas the CSV option sends you all the data used to produce the graph.

2. In the Desktop and Mobile box, you can see statistics regarding newsletter opens and click statistics based on whether they originate from desktops, handhelds, or other devices.

Click on the three-dots icon in the top right corner of the box to send the information in CSV format to your account's email, or to download it as a pdf (just select your preferred format from the drop-down menu that appears). Note that the pdf option allows you to download the graph you are viewing, whereas the CSV option sends you all the data used to produce the graph.

3. In the Device Types & Clients box, you can see information on the types of devices, in conjunction with the email clients, that are used to open your newsletter.email_clients_and_device_type_reports_4.png

Click on the three-dots icon in the top right corner of the box to send the information in csv format to your account's email, or to download it as a pdf (just select your preferred format from the drop-down menu that appears). Note that the pdf option includes only the information visible within each section, whereas the CSV option will include the entirety of entries contained within each "Top" section.

Also, keep in mind that not all devices and clients can be recognized. For example, when Gmail subscribers open a campaign on their browser, said action will not send device data unless they click on a link. Non-recognized devices and clients are not listed here.

4. In the Browsers box, you can see information on the types of browsers used to open your campaign. Next to each browser, you can also see the browser's version.

Note that the pdf option includes only the information visible within each section, whereas the CSV option will include the entirety of entries contained within each section.

 

5. In the Email Clients box, you can see statistics pertaining solely to the email clients used to open your newsletter.

Click on the three-dots icon in the top right corner of the box to send the information in CSV format to your account's email, or to download it as a pdf (just select your preferred format from the drop-down menu that appears). Note that the pdf option includes only the information visible within each section, whereas the CSV option will include the entirety of entries contained within each section.

 

6. Finally, in the Operating Systems box, you can see information on the operating systems that are being used to open your campaign.

Click on the three-dots icon in the top right corner of the box to send the information in CSV format to your account's email, or to download it as a pdf (just select your preferred format from the drop-down menu that appears). Note that the pdf option includes only the information visible within each section, whereas the CSV option will include the entirety of entries contained within each section.

C. Additional options

Click on the three-dots icon at the very top right corner of the Track email clients & devices page, to open a drop-down menu of actions you can take in terms of your campaign report, as well as the campaign itself.email_clients_and_device_type_reports_5.png

Your options are:

  • View Design
    Allows you to view your newsletter design.
  • Share Current Section
    Allows you to share the campaign report tab you are currently viewing (Track email clients & devices), with third parties. You can share for example the content inside the Overview tab, the Recipient Activity tab, etc.

1. Click on Sharing in the drop-down menu.

A pop-up window appears.

2. Toggle the Make this item public option to On.

A copyable URL appears. Anyone you share the URL with will be able to view the specific section of the campaign report that you chose to share.

Note that when you disable the Make this item public option and then enable it again, the sharing URL will change, and the previous sharing URL will no longer work 

  •  Print
    Allows you to print the section of the report that is currently open on your screen.
  • Delete Campaign
    Allows you to delete the campaign from within the report.
  • Duplicate Campaign
    Allows you to duplicate the campaign from within the report.
  • Duplicate for non-openers
    Allows you to duplicate the campaign for non-openers. Your duplicated campaign will appear at the top of your list of campaigns, and the automatically created email list will consist specifically of the non-openers of the original campaign.

    Discovering that many of your recipients open your newsletters using their mobile phones or via specific email clients, browsers, etc., is valuable information that will serve you well as you optimize the design of your newsletter for different recipients. Keeping your subscribers satisfied is not only a matter of relevant content but of compatible design as well.
