Use conditional visibility to display content to specific recipients

The Campaign Editor lets you maximize the effectiveness of your campaigns by providing an option to personalize the content shown to your recipients. You can use the Conditional visibility setting and your custom fields to display catered content to a specific audience when the conditions you have set are met. For example, if you want to send a special offer to a few recipients, you can choose to show that specific promo to only a subset of your email list.

Note: To apply any conditional visibility setting to your subscribers, custom field values must be filled out.

To use conditional visibility in a newsletter:

  1. In the editing area, hover your mouse over the layout that contains the content (ex. special offer you want to show to specific recipients) to display the Actions menu.
  2. Click Row_settings.png to display the Layout settings in the editor's right pane.
  3. Click the Conditional visibility drop-down menu. You can set the following:
    • Custom field: select a text-type custom field you want to use to set a condition. For example, you can select the text-type custom field for "City".
Note: Custom fields become available based on the email list you've selected during the campaign creation process.
    • Comparer: select the appropriate comparer for your custom field. For example, select "is"
    • Value: enter the custom field value for your custom field condition. For example, enter the value "Rome".

Using the conditions in our example, only subscribers with the value "Rome" in their "City" custom field can view your newsletter content with a special offer. The entire layout containing the offer is hidden from other recipients who did not meet your conditions.
