A. Edit the general settings

You can customize the general look and feel of your newsletter even before you create any layout or add any items.

  1. In the editor’s left pane, click the Settings tab.
  2. In General settings, you can either scroll down to view the available settings or use the Search field to enter the name of the setting you want to edit. You can set the following:
    • Title: enter a title for the newsletter design.
    • Content width: select the newsletter width from these preset sizes in pixels: 600, 660, 780, 840, and 900
    • Border width: enter the width or use updownarrow.png to edit the newsletter border width.
    • Border Color: select the color of the newsletter border. The default color is black.
    • Background Color: select the newsletter background color.
    • Add Background Image: click to browse and use the image picker to upload an image from your computer, or from a variety of applications. The image is added to the design when successfully uploaded.
    • Background Image Repeat: select the option for background image repeat in the horizontal (x), vertical (y), or both horizontal and vertical axes, or no repeat in the layout.
    • Change Background Image: select a new background image to replace the current one.
    • Remove Background Image: click to delete the newsletter background image.
  3. Select Use retina quality images to enable rendering images in your design in a sharp retina display. For best results, uploaded images must be at least double the displayed images’ dimensions.

B. Add a custom font

You can add a custom font to your newsletter to allow you to use your preferred fonts in your email messaging. You can select from the available fonts in the editor and add them as your preferred newsletter fonts.

Note: Not all e-mail clients support custom fonts.

To add a custom font:

    1. In the editor’s left pane, click the Settings tab.
    2. Scroll down and click the Google fonts drop-down menu.
    3. Browse the available fonts and click the font that you want to use. You can also use the search bar to enter the name of the font you want to use.
    4. Select one or more font weights or style options you want for the custom font and click Add.  A notification that the font has been added appears at the bottom of the Settings tab.
    5. After adding the custom font, click any Text item in the editing area to display the text toolbar.
    6. Click the Fonts drop-down menu and select the custom font you just added.
Note: You can also change the font weight of your text in the editor.

C. Add a Gmail annotation

You can add promotions annotations in your newsletters and add key information to highlight your emails in the Gmail Promotions tab.

      1. In the editor’s left pane, click the Settings tab.
      2. Scroll down and click the Gmail annotation drop-down menu.
      3. Click the switch to put the settings in the Active state.
Note: Enabling this setting doesn't necessarily mean that your annotation will always appear in the Gmail Promotions tab since Gmail is using a complicated algorithm to show annotations.
      4. Fill in the following fields:
        • Featured image: click to select a featured image for your Gmail annotation. You can  use the image picker to upload an image from your computer, or from a variety of applications. You can click the image to delete it and select a new one.
        • Logo: click to select an image that will appear as the sender's logo. You can  use the image picker to upload an image from your computer, or from a variety of applications. You can click the image to delete it and select a new one.
        • Description: enter a description. If you added a product to your design and selected to use it for the Gmail Promotions tab, the description will be auto-filled with the product's title.
        • Discount code: enter the code that goes with your offer.
        • Expiration date: set an expiration date and time for the offer in your annotation and click OK.
      5. To preview your Google Promotions annotation, on the top menu, click Preview. The editor switches to Preview mode.
