Edit a text item in a subscription form

One of the items in the Form Designer that you can use in designing your subscription forms is textYou can edit the text in your selected template to make the form appealing to your subscribers. Using text ensures that your form is readable and contains the most important information about your campaign.

After editing the layout, you can edit the item in your design.

A. Edit text

  1. In the editing area, click the text to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. In the Content tab, in the text field, edit the text by typing it directly or pasting the text.

B. Edit basic settings

  1. Click the text item to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. You can either scroll down to view the available settings or use the Search field to enter the name of the setting you want to edit. You can set the following:
    • Background Color: select the background color of the text. The default color is transparent.
    • Shadow Settings: click to edit the horizontal or vertical shadow length, adjust the blur and spread radius, shadow color, and then click Apply.
    • Border Width: enter the text border width or use the up and down arrows to edit the width.
    • Border Color: select the text border color.
    • Border Radius: enter the radius or use the up and down arrows to edit the text border radius from 0 (rectangle) to 2000 (circle).
    • Padding: click the lock icon to display these options: Padding TopPadding BottomPadding Left and Padding Right, then enter the padding or use the up and down arrows to edit the padding from 0 to 2000.
  3. If you want to use custom fonts, add a custom font in the designer settings and use it in your subscription form. You can also change the font weight of your custom font.

C. Edit the text content

  1. Click the text item to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. In the Content tab, in the text field, select the part of the text that you want to edit. The selected text is highlighted in blue. You can use the following content options:
    • New document: clears all content inside the text area.
    • Cut: removes the selected text, while giving you the option to paste it elsewhere.
    • Copy: copies the selected text, giving you the option to paste it elsewhere.
    • Paste as text: pastes the text which you have previously cut/copied removing any decorations (re: formatting, styling, etc.).
      Note: When pasting text, it is recommended to paste in plain text format (use CTRL+Shift+V) to avoid any problems displaying the text properly or fixing unwanted formatting from copying and pasting text.
    • Numbered List | Bulleted List: creates a numbered or bulleted list from the selected text.
    • Blockquote: places the selected text inside a quote block. 

D. Edit the text style

  1. Click the text item to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. Click the Style tab, in the text field, select the part of the text that you want to edit. The selected text is highlighted in blue. You can use the following style options
    • Align Left | Align Right | Align Center | Justify: various alignment options to stylize your paragraphs.
    • Bold | Italic | Strikethrough | Underlined:  decoration options most commonly used in texts.  
    • Clear Formatting: removes any formatting from the selected text.
    • Text Color Background Color: changes the text and background by way of presets. You can click Color_picker_icon.png to open the color picker for additional colors.
    • Line Height: different heights to adjust the space between lines ranging from 1 (single line) to 2 (double line). 
    • Formatting Styles: a drop-down list with a variety of block styles to customize your text. For example, Paragraph, Heading 1, etc.
    • Font Name Font Size: a drop-down list with commonly used font types and different font sizes (indicated in pixels).

E. Edit the text settings

  1. Click the text item to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. Click the Settings tab, you can use the following settings:
    • Spellcheck: click Spellcheck.png to select the language you want to use to check your text. Words with spelling errors appear with a wavy red underline.
    • Source code: click Source_code.png to open a dialog where you can edit the HTML code of your text. You can use this for example when you manually change the font weight.
    • Upload file: click Upload_file_icon.png to drag and drop or browse a file you want to upload and attach to your landing page. The file must not exceed 20MB.

F. Add or remove links

  1. Click the text item to display the Text settings in the designer’s right pane.
  2. Click the Content tab and select the part of the text that you want to use as a link. The selected text is highlighted in blue.
  3. Click Add_link_icon.png or press Ctrl+L on your keyboard.
  4. In the Insert/Edit Link dialog, fill out the details to add a URL, email, or anchor link to your form.
