Using Comments mode for newsletters

In Campaign Editor, you can use Comments mode to share comments and feedback about the campaign design. You can collaborate with other team members working on a newsletter by adding, replying to, and resolving comments.

A. Add a comment to an item or a container

You can add comments to individual items or containers in your design. You can add multiple comments or reply to comments to create a comment thread. You can also tag your team members in your comments.

To add a comment to an item or a container :

  1. On the top menu, click Comments. The editor switches to Comments mode.
  2. In the editing area, hover your mouse over the item or container where you want to add a comment, then click the corresponding icon.
  3. Click elementcomment.png to add a comment to an item.
  4. Click containercomment.png to add a comment to a container.
  5. In the Add a comment field, enter your comment.
    • To tag a team member, enter @ in the Add a comment field to display the list of team members and then select the username you want to tag.
    • To add a new line to your comment, press Enter on your keyboard.
    • To clear the comment you entered and start over, click Comment_clear_icon.png.
  6. Click Comment_enter_icon.png to post your comment.

Note: After posting your comment, your comment is added to the list of comments in the editor's left pane with your username, and the date and time the comment was added. After adding a comment, your team members get a notification that can be viewed in the editor

B. View a comment from another team member

When someone adds a comment to a newsletter design, other team members are notified within the editor about new comments. If you are tagged in a comment, you also get an email notification that contains a direct link to the comment.

To view a comment as a team member:

  1. On the top menu, click Comments. The editor switches to Comments mode. The notification counter beside Comments becomes active when a new notification arrives. The number on the red icon displays the count of unread comments.

  6. To add a new comment in the thread, in the Add a comment field, enter your comment and click Comment_enter_icon.png.
Note: You can still tag other team members using the @ mention in your reply as needed.

D. Mark one or all comments as read

When you receive a notification in the editor about a comment added, you can mark it as read without opening the comment. Usually, if you want to remember to read a comment later, you can leave it as unread.

To mark a comment as read:

  1. On the top menu, click Comments. The editor switches to Comments mode.
  2. In the left pane, in the list of comments, click the comment that you want to mark as read.
  3. Click Mark as read.
Note: To mark ALL comments as read at the same time, go to the left pane and click Mark all as read in the top section. The comments notification counter is no longer displayed when there are no unread comments.

E. Resolve a comment

After you've responded to or read a comment and completed all necessary work or clarifications with other team members, it is a good idea to mark the comment as resolved.

To resolve a comment:

  1. On the top menu, click Comments. The editor switches to Comments mode.
  2. In the left pane, in the list of comments, click the comment that you want to resolve. The item or container with the comment is displayed in the editing area.
  3. Click the Resolve label in the comment to resolve it. The label changes to Resolved. Resolving a comment keeps the comment but hides it in the list in the left pane.
Note: If you are tagged in a comment that has been resolved, you also get an email notification that contains a direct link to the comment.
  4. To view the resolved comment in the left pane, turn on the Include resolved switch. The pane displays all resolved and unresolved comments.
  5. To reactivate a resolved comment, click the Resolved label.
