Customize the unsubscribe settings in Moosend
Change the unsubscribe settings of your Moosend account.
Moosend lets you customize the unsubscribe settings of your account. You can choose to remove a subscriber from an email list or from your account, set up redirection to a webpage after a subscriber clicks the verification link, or unsubscribes from an email list.
Customize the unsubscribe settings of your account
Note
When you add a single subscriber to an email list manually or through the API, the subscriber is added regardless of whether the subscriber has previously been unsubscribed.
To change the unsubscribe settings of your account:
On the menu bar, click More > Settings.
On the menu on the left, click Set your account settings.
Navigate to the Unsubscribe settings section and select one of the following:
Unsubscribe users from my account and never send to them - email subscribers who unsubscribed from your email list are removed across your entire account.
When unsubscribing users from a list send to them from other mailing lists - email subscribers who unsubscribed from a specific email list are removed from that list only. You can still send campaigns if they are subscribed to your other email lists.
In the Unsubscribe type section, select one of the following:
Single Opt-out - enables subscribers to immediately to opt-out and discontinue all future communications by clicking a single unsubscribe link.
Double Opt-out - enables subscribers to discontinue all future communications by redirecting them to an unsubscribe page, ensuring that their intent to opt-out is confirmed, reducing the risk of accidental unsubscribes.
Click Save.
Set up redirection to a webpage after unsubscription
You can set up the page where you want to redirect your subscribers after they unsubscribe from an email list.
To set up the redirection to a webpage after unsubscription:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list you want to edit.
On the menu on the left, click Set your settings.
Navigate to the Unsubscribe Settings section and in the Redirect page URL field, enter the URL of your unsubscription page. Subscribers will be redirected to this page after they unsubscribe from your email list.
Note
If you leave this field blank, your subscribers will be redirected to a generic page.
Click Save.
Set up redirection to a webpage after clicking the verification link
You can set up the page where you want to redirect your subscribers after they click the link in your verification email. You can do this if you selected a double opt-in option for your email list.
To set up the redirection to a webpage after clicking the verification link:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list you want to edit.
On the menu on the left, click Set your settings.
Navigate to the Opt-in settings section and click one of the following double opt-in options:
Soft double opt-in - a verification email is sent to members but members will be included in your list regardless if they verify or not.
Strong double opt-in - emails are only sent to verified subscribers.
Navigate to the Landing page URL field, enter the URL of your confirmation page. New subscribers will be redirected to this page, after they click the verification link.
Click Save.
