Delete recipients
Moosend lets you delete recipients from your email lists by copying and pasting data, using TXT, CSV, or Excel files, and through available plugins.
You can delete your email list contacts using different methods as described in the following sections.
Delete an email list contact manually
You can manually delete one or more contacts from your email list to permanently remove the contact and history in your account.
To delete a contact manually:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click View all members.
Find the email address of the contact you want to delete.
Click and click Archive/Delete.
In the Confirm Action dialog, click Delete.
Delete using a TXT or CSV file
You can delete contacts from your email list using files of the .csv or .txt type up to 40 MB in size. If your data contains any special characters, you must upload a UTF-8 file to ensure compatibility.
To delete contacts using a CSV or TXT file:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.
On the Choose Bulk Action page, navigate to Delete List Members and click Select.
In the pop-up dialog that appears, navigate to the CSV/TXT File option and click Select.
On the Data selection tab, click Browse and select the file that you want to import and click Next.
Note
If the separator in your file is not a tab, a comma, a semicolon, or a pipe delimiter, you must enter it in the Enter a custom separator field.
On the Data Mapping tab, ensure the default Email field is mapped to the email column, then click Next. You can ignore the other custom fields, as the system only uses the Email field to identify, archive, or unsubscribe the contact.
Note
If you have not mapped all uploaded data to their corresponding fields, a pop-up dialog asks you to confirm that you want to ignore any unmapped columns. Click Ignore and continue.
On the Notification tab, select if and how you want to be notified when the delete process has been completed. Select Apply to all email lists if you want the delete process to be applied to all your email lists simultaneously. Click Delete to start the process.
A pop-up message indicates that the delete operation has been successfully queued. To view a report of the operation, click Go there.
Click View reports to see the details of when the delete operation started or finished, and how many contacts were deleted.
Delete using an Excel file
You can use an .xls or .xlsx file up to 40 MB in size, to ardelete your email list contacts.
To delete contacts using a CSV or TXT file:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.
On the Choose Bulk Action page, navigate to Delete List Members and click Select.
In the pop-up dialog that appears, navigate to the Excel File option and click Select.
On the Data selection tab, click Browse and select the file that you want to import and click Next.
On the Data Mapping tab, ensure the default Email field is mapped to the email column, then click Next. You can ignore the other custom fields, as the system only uses the Email field to identify, archive, or unsubscribe the contact.

Delete contacts by copying and pasting
Moosend lets you delete contacts from your email lists by copying and pasting the data. Use this method to delete up to 500 members, and use other available archiving methods if your list exceeds the 500 members limit.
To delete contacts by pasting text:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.
On the Choose Bulk Action page, navigate to Delete List Members and click Select.
In the pop-up dialog that appears, navigate to the Paste Text option and click Select.
On the Data selection tab, paste your list of contacts and click Next.
Note
Use one contact per line and commas ( , ) to separate the fields of each contact on your list.
On the Data Mapping tab, ensure the default Email field is mapped to the email column, then click Next. You can ignore the other custom fields, as the system only uses the Email field to identify, archive, or unsubscribe the contact.

Delete using the Google Contacts plugin
Moosend lets you delete contacts from your email list using the Google Contacts plugin.
To delete contacts using the Google Contacts plugin:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.
On the Choose Bulk Action page, navigate to Delete List Members and click Select.
In the pop-up dialog that appears, navigate to Google Contacts plugin and click Select.
Click Connect your Google account and enter your Google credentials.
Click Allow to complete the authentication step.
On the Data selection tab, select how you want to import your contacts' data:
No, import everything - import all the fields in your contacts list.
Yes, I want to import from a list of filters - select which contact groups to import.

Moosend lets you delete contacts from your email list using the Salesforce plugin.
To delete contacts using the Salesforce plugin:
On the menu bar, click Audience > Email lists.
Click the name of the email list from which you want to delete contacts.
On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.
On the Choose Bulk Action page, navigate to Delete List Members and click Select.
In the pop-up dialog that appears, navigate to Salesforce plugin and click Select.
Click Login with your account and enter your Salesforce credentials.
Click Allow to complete the authentication step.
On the Data selection tab, select which contact fields to import and click Next.
