Work with landing page custom domains
Learn how to add, verify and delete a custom domain for your landing pages.
You can add a custom domain (CNAME) for your landing pages to align it with your characteristics and branding. You must verify your custom domain before you can personalize it. You can also customize your landing page domain branding.
To create a custom domain, you have to create a landing page custom domain for your landing page URLs. After this domain is verified, you'll be able to select it in the publishing settings of your landing pages.
Add a landing page custom domain
When adding a landing page custom domain, you have to create a subdomain within your own domain. For example, if your domain address is mydomain.com
and your default Moosend landing page domain is mydomain.m-pages.com
, then you have to create a subdomain with your preferred custom domain name, for example, landing.mydomain.com
.
After you create your subdomain, you should add a CNAME record to the DNS of your domain mydomain.com
, and in the CNAME record, you must point landing.mydomain.com
to mydomain.m-pages.com
.
To add a landing page custom domain:
Important
Before you change the domain settings, you must make sure that you have access to your domain's Domain Name System (DNS) records.
On the menu bar, click More > Settings.
On the menu on the left, click Branding.
In the Landing page custom domain section, you can view the default domain for your landing page. Click Create new domain to add a landing page custom domain.
In the Website domain field, enter the landing page domain and click Create and verify.
Verify a landing page custom domain
To verify a landing page custom domain:
On the menu bar, click More > Settings.
On the menu on the left, click Branding.
In the Landing page custom domain section, go to the unverified domain name and click Brand domain.
To verify your custom domain now, click Verify DNS Record. To verify your custom domain at a later time, click Verify Later.
Note
It takes 30 minutes or more to apply any changes you have made.
After you have successfully added and verified a landing page CNAME, the new custom domain does not auto-reflect on your existing landing pages or forms and you'll have to manually change them if you want to use the new domain.
For detailed instructions on how to register CNAMEs with some of the most popular providers, refer to Set up a CNAME for different providers.
Note
To secure your added CNAME, you can export your personal information exchange (PFX) file in Windows format and submit a support ticket to
support@moosend.com
with your PFX file, including the password for the file, if needed. We will then add the certificate to your CNAME on your behalf, ensuring that it uses a secure HTTPS connection. To ensure the ongoing security of your CNAME, you will need to send us a new PFX file in Windows format if your current one expires. When the custom domain is verified, you can continue customizing your landing page domain branding.
